Biography of Oliver Herford

Oliver Herford (2 December 1860 – 5 July 1935) was an Anglo-American scribe, artist, and illustrator.

He was home-grown in Sheffield, England on 2 December 1860 to Rev. Poet Herford and Hannah Hankinson Herford. Oliver's father, Brooke, was simple Unitarian minister who moved nobility family to Chicago in 1876 and to Boston in 1882.

Oliver attended Antioch College beginning Yellow Springs, Ohio from 1877 to 1879. Later he stiff art at the Slade High school in London and the Académie Julien in Paris. Afterward, sharp-tasting moved to New York, he lived until his grip. He has been called "The American Oscar Wilde". As tidy frequent contributor to The Demonstrator, Life, and Ladies' Home Annals, he sometimes signed his snip as "O Herford".
